I will be flying from London to Chicago this week to attend the National Communication Association (NCA) 95th Annual Convention, and if all goes well *crosses fingers* I will arrive on Thursday afternoon. So expect me to be MIA for November 12-17 or so.
My paper presentation, titled "'Chix Comix' to 'Shoujo Manga': Ideology and Lexical Shift in the U.S. Manga Industry," is scheduled for a Friday afternoon panel. Come one, come all:
Issues in Historical and Contemporary Japanese Culture Unit: Japan-U.S. Communication Association Session Submission type: Paper Session Time: Fri, Nov 13 - 12:30pm - 1:45pm Place: Palmer House Hilton, Salon 1
And I just received word this morning that I will be awarded the Japan-US Communication Association's Top Student Paper Award for 2009!!! Needless to say, I was shocked (didn't even know I was in the running), but it is quite the honor. Anyway, I'm to receive it at the JUCA business meeting:

If you're going to be at NCA this year, please do drop me a line so that we can get together!! ^__^
