New York State Communication Association Conference, Oct. 17-19

So, I will be at the NYSCA conference this coming weekend, along with several other students and faculty members from NYU's Department of Media, Culture, and Communication, presenting a paper on Saturday from 10:15-11:30 with another of Prof. Borisoff's former students. Here is the relevant information copied from the schedule draft:

Issues in Social Interactions and Processes: Gender and Cultural Differences
Chair/Respondent: Deborah Borisoff, New York University
This graduate student panel examines the impact of critical issues on how gender and cross-cultural differences are experienced and negotiated in the various cultural contexts of social interaction.
  • Cross-Cultural Content Analysis of Dating Websites: France and the United States; Clara Kroher, New York University (Clara had a family emergency and will not be present.)
  • Manga and Gendered Discourse in the U.S. Comics Field; Casey Brienza, New York University
  • Stigmatization Toward “Feminized” Gay Men: The Reinforcement of Masculinity as a Superior Concept in the Gay Community; Shinsuke Eguchi, Howard University
