Kethylia is all a-Twitter...

Because microblogging is extremely addictive. The following tweets were posted to my public Twitter account in the past twenty four hours (or the last time LoudTwitter updated, whichever is sooner):
  • 13:24 Another paper accepted. Group submission this time. It should be fun to attend a conference with professors and classmates. ^_^
  • 17:31 X-Files Movie = suck; Seiyou Kottou Yougashiten (Antique Bakery) anime = suck. That'll teach me to get excited about anything in the future.
  • 18:42 The smartest editorial on feminist anger I've seen in a long time: www.nytimes.com/2008/08/26/opinion/26faludi.html

The Antique Bakery anime is indeed bad, but the beginning is ESPECIALLY bad. If you stick with it for a few episodes, it gets noticeably better (episode 7 is decent, for example). Still a major disappointment, tho. -_-;

That tweet was posted after I'd seen eight episodes. >_< At this point, there's no way it can redeem itself in my eyes.

Ha ha! Okay, fair enough. It's not a good show, but I thought the first few episodes were WRETCHED...didn't mind the later stuff as much, possibly because the animation got slightly better and the voice acting wasn't as awkward. (Mamoru Miyano was miscast as Eiji, but he eventually slides into the role well enough.)

I dunno...production and animation quality on the extreme low end, even for a TV series. Maybe you're just getting used to lowering your expectations. ^_~ I thought those psychedelic bursts of flowers and blowing black feathers in the early episodes were beyond unnecessary, though. >_<

About the only thing I like is the interior decoration of the bakery. :P
