"In the city of my birth, I had a dream..."
Dare I believe it?!!!

CNN is still playing skeptic, but the Associated Press has called the VA senate race for a Webb victory--which would mean Democratic control of BOTH houses of Congress!

I wanna hug somebody and dance around the room right now...but all I have handy is my body-length pillow. T_T

*hugs and dances with you*
9th-Nov-2006 12:41 pm (UTC)
Feels like you're waking up from a nightmare doesn't it? ^_^
9th-Nov-2006 01:21 pm (UTC)
Now, all I need is to wake up and realize that the REST of my life has been a bad dream, too!
9th-Nov-2006 01:23 pm (UTC)
Oooh, sorry, you only get one wish come true ^_~
9th-Nov-2006 01:26 pm (UTC)
I thought I got THREE, Mr. Genie!
9th-Nov-2006 01:28 pm (UTC)
The House, the Senate, and Rumsfeld gone.. That's three ^__^
9th-Nov-2006 01:29 pm (UTC)
No, Congress is one, Rumsfeld is 0. He's not important enough, as far as I'm concerned. The entire Bush administration would be #2.
9th-Nov-2006 01:31 pm (UTC)
Okay, okay, I'll work on wish #2, but it might take a couple years ^_~
9th-Nov-2006 01:42 pm (UTC)
And if all I get is a Bush clone, you're fired, Mr. Genie--and you'll never be able to work in this town again!
9th-Nov-2006 02:05 pm (UTC)
Oh, so not Jeb Bush then? ^_~
9th-Nov-2006 02:06 pm (UTC)
I'm guessing that the name's gonna be a scrouge, at least for a little while.
9th-Nov-2006 02:10 pm (UTC)
Let's hope so ^^;;

I'm wondering just who they'll pull out for the next go around...
9th-Nov-2006 04:25 pm (UTC)
From mayor of NYC, maybe? :P
9th-Nov-2006 05:30 pm (UTC)
Although.... His former police commissioner did come out and talk about what a nasty authoritarian SOB is really is ^^;;

Unless you're talking about Ed Koch ^_~
9th-Nov-2006 05:35 pm (UTC)
VH1 called him a "diva." Perfect for the presidency.
9th-Nov-2006 05:41 pm (UTC)
At least he's not a born again nut case ^_~
9th-Nov-2006 05:48 pm (UTC)
Yeah. Think it'll fly with the base? :P
9th-Nov-2006 05:54 pm (UTC)
Heh, Bush's base probably considers him a Godless commie...
9th-Nov-2006 05:57 pm (UTC)
Probably. Same thing with Ahnold, too...but he's not a native-born American, so he's disqualified from the getgo.
9th-Nov-2006 06:04 pm (UTC)
Plus Arnold has Kennedy connections, which would probably rule him out as far as the fascists conservative Republicans are concerned.....
9th-Nov-2006 06:06 pm (UTC)
Probably McCain as a frontrunner, though maybe someone else less well-known will make an appearance in two years.
9th-Nov-2006 06:13 pm (UTC)

Though they really would have to come up with someone new quick, because the campaign for president started yesterday ^^;;

The big immediate benefit is that Bush no longer has the ability to do whatever the hell he wants with no Congressional oversight.. We've essentially had an authoritarian government, with a rubberstamp congress letting Bush tell them what to do and even making up his own laws while ignoring the real ones, and a continual PR campaign attacking the judicial branch at every turn... Now at least, there's a roadblock to Bush's continual power grab and destruction of the Constitution.. That's really what I voted for, so at the moment I'm happy.....
