So, 30% of women "can't have sex just like a man."

Wow, 20/20 has all the great news bytes. Who would've thought that I could EVER have sex "just like a man" without the requisite equipment installed?

Naturally, the article assumes that lack of libido in women is a dysfunction:

About 30 percent of women — twice that of men — have a low libido, or sex drive, studies show.

If it's physiological, there are remedies, such as hormone medication.
But wait, it gets even better:

But there are other reasons a woman can't have sex just like a man.

Women are also more easily distracted than men, even in bed.

McCarthy admitted that she often made lists — grocery lists — while making love.

"That's not because she's not interested. Women are natural multitaskers," Berman said. "Our main sexual organ is our brain. So our body can actually be physiologically responding, but if we're not in a state of mind to respond, it doesn't register."

OH HO HO HO HO HO! Hey girl, did you know that you'll never have sex like a man because you think too damn much??? As you can see, women have no control over their own minds. They're not smart enough to do science or beat the boys on IQ tests, apparently, and they can't even shut off the brain circuits when the booty's available.

How do they explain Girls Gone Wild, then? Circuit overload by booze proxy?

Guess he's having trouble have sex "just like a man" too, eh? ^_~

Having too many worries on one's mind undoubtedly interferes with having fun (in bed or otherwise), but leave it to 20/20 to suggest that it's mainly a female problem. *gargh*

Well you know, women are the root of all ebil.

Or men are the standard of normality by which all things are measured. Though one does not necessarily preclude the other.

*snickers*

So is the underlying assumption that if a woman is not as horny as a man, there's something wrong with the woman that can be fixed with drugs? ^^;

Was this study based on self reporting? Because if it is, err.......

How do they explain Girls Gone Wild, then?

Oh come on, we all know those girls are contemplating nuclear physics or Western policies towards Africa while they're grinding their naked bodies together in the shower ^_~

Was this study based on self reporting?

I'm not even sure if it was based on any formal study. A lot of it sounds like a sex therapist pulling it out of her butt.

A sex therapist! If you're not burningly horny all the time there's something wrong with you, but I can help if you pay me vast sums! >_<

Pretty much worthless in that case.....

What really galls me is that we say that 30% of women have lower libido than men--therefore there must be something wrong them. We could just as easily conclude that there's something wrong with all the men who can't put it back in the pants. :P

But there's not much money to be made selling drugs to reduce libido ^_~

Heh. You know how they say that Viagra "doesn't work" for women? Well, it's not that it doesn't work physiologically--it's just that women don't automatically associate engorged erectile tissue with sexual excitement. :P

Of course, Viagra or any libido enhancement drug is only of benefit if there’s someone around wanting to exercise your enhancement.. Otherwise, sounds like just an expensive annoyance ^_^;;

*nods* Definitely. Especially since men who use it report enhanced PERFORMANCE, not enhanced pleasure. ^^; So, really, it's an ego boost more than anything else.

Or maybe they just turn off their emotions when hooked up to a machine. Feeling passionate while there are wires coming off of me and my partner every which way seems kind of...disturbed, quite frankly.

I dunno...never tried it (though it doesn't sound all that appealing from the get go). Have YOU tried it? ^_~

Our main sexual organ is our brain.

I thought that was everyone's main sexual organ.
