"In the city of my birth, I had a dream..."
Ian McKellen has more fun.

I kid not.

Seen The Da Vinci Code yet? The film's "merits" or lack thereof aren't worth talking about, but while Tom Hanks tries to hide a sour expression and the rest of the cast clearly wishes they were elsewhere, Sir Ian McKellen is having a blast as Teabing. (Gotta rent the DVD when it comes out JUST so I can screencap that last shot of him with his mouth open in a silent shriek.)

Likewise, though the cast of X-Men: The Last Stand looks at least reasonably willing to be there (though not particularly enthusiastic about it), McKellen, who gets all the best lines, again looks like he's having the time of his life (while standing just a little bit too close to the good Professor and later honoring his memory just a touch too vehemently ^_~ ).

X-Men: The Last Stand was crap. They were so untrue to the original that it drove me nuts (the first two at least paid enough homage to its source). I just plain did not like it. The story was trying to give so much that all the subplots were stretched thin and worthless. The movie really pissed me off.

YES! Sir Ian McKellen as Teabing was awesome!! :) He was much more memorable than Tom Hanks or Audrey Tautoue.

Which one? ^_^

my friend fell asleep in the movie. 'nuff said...

And "Which one?" again. Although arguably both had great nap time potential...

oh sorry, i meant he was the only watchable one in the da vinci code. haven't had a chance to watch x men yet, but i'm a bit hesitant being a long-time fan of the comic...

personally while i love ian mckellen and most of his roles,i still have a bit of trouble seeing him as magneto, not to mention how they are messing up the storyline and characters in the movie...

Yeah, comic book purists are shrieking "Foul!" with regards to the film, I'm sure, but it was reasonably entertaining, I suppose, especially for the average moviegoing layperson.

Have you seen Gods and Monsters? Another great Sir Ian film... ^__^
