If you have any recommendations for me on the basis of this list, by all means drop me a line! My New Year's Resolution is to read at least 200 books, and I'm always looking for suggestions.

YEARLY TOTAL (to date): 82

My god, how voracious of you...did you skim or read each book in it's entirety? I'm impressed. I'm going to check out your reviews.

1st-Mar-2006 12:17 pm (UTC)
Nah, I don't skim. I just happen to have a lot of time on my hands right now.
1st-Mar-2006 12:03 pm (UTC) - The First Verse by Barry McCrea
I just finished THE FIRST VERSE by Barry McCrea on Monday night. I am working on a review for my LJ but the book is so dense and intricate that I'm hard pressed to come up with something to do it justice. I think it is one of the very best books I've read in quite some time. I think you'll really enjoy it.

I got the book club edition awhile back. It's on the pile. ^_^

At least 200 books? You'll be there before May at this rate!
1st-Mar-2006 12:27 pm (UTC)
In theory...but I don't think I can keep up this pace. >_< I'm already slowing down, actually.
1st-Mar-2006 12:34 pm (UTC)
82 and it's just early march? I think you'll hit 200 with no problem. How you manage more than one a day is beyond me.
1st-Mar-2006 01:31 pm (UTC)
Seriously, do you work? My gracious! That's impressive.

Part-time freelance writer for about a year, now. But I've had a lot more time on my hands than usual because I'm not taking any classes this semester.
1st-Mar-2006 01:37 pm (UTC)
I love Tamora Pierce.I have yet to read Trickerster's Choice and Trickster's Queen.
1st-Mar-2006 01:40 pm (UTC)
Those two are on my to-read pile. ^_^
1st-Mar-2006 03:05 pm (UTC) - Weeps disconsolately in a corner. ;)
Ok, you've almost completed my yearly resolution.
1st-Mar-2006 07:50 pm (UTC)
what did you think of Holleran's Nights In Aruba? i've read The Beauty of Men and have been contemplating his other books.
1st-Mar-2006 08:21 pm (UTC)
I haven't read The Beauty of Men, but I've read Holleran's Dancer from the Dance and Nights in Aruba and thought the latter was better. The review I wrote for the latter is here. Personally, I thought it was better than "Dancer."

You're the 2nd one today I've see that has read: The Woman Who Rides Like a Man by Tamora Pierce. Did you enjoy it?
1st-Mar-2006 08:23 pm (UTC)
Of the four Song of the Lioness books, I thought that one was the weakest--it was little more than a placeholder between Vol. 2 and Vol. 4. Of all of Pierce's series that I've read thus far, I enjoyed The Immortals the most.
2nd-Mar-2006 12:51 am (UTC)
Well, at least I'm still on pace for my modest goal ^_^;;
2nd-Mar-2006 12:53 am (UTC)
How many thus far?
2nd-Mar-2006 03:43 am (UTC)
I'm so very envious.

I never ever have time to read anymore. v_v I've been reading Anna Karenina for ages.
