They need a Chuck Norris vs Dick Cheney movie.

What IS the Chuck Norris reference, anyway? *ignorant*

It's a meme that's been going around for a while now - the real sort of meme, not what normally passes for one on LJ. Like thus.

It's...bizzare.

Boy, you're full of facts today!

Hmm...I don't get it. Is this like, coming up with a bunch of inventive ways of Chuck Norris killing people?

Yay! Random trivia is fun!

I have no idea what the general point of the Chuck Norris meme is. Although I will admit that some of them make me laugh ("Chuck's Favorites" on the page above, mostly), because of the absurdity. It doesn't seem to be about killing people, more like a general celebration of his toughness. Or something.

I have no idea how this one started, I haven't managed to track that down yet.

*shrugs* Ah, well. I guess there are a lot of people out there with too much time on their hands and an excess of badly-channeled creativity.

I remember seeing this "Ten Ways Dick Cheney Can Kill You" awhile back...and didn't think it was THAT funny. In light of current events, it takes on a whole NEW meaning. ^^;;;;

Ha! Because I can't deal with not knowning random facts, I have tracked the Chuck Norris facts to the Something Awful forums, where it appears to have started as a spoof of an old Saturday Night Live sketch.

Before, the Dick Cheney thing wasn't so funny. Now? Comedy gold. It's all about timing (that, and I have a warped sense of humor).

Ah. Well. Good to know. I guess. ^^;;;;;;;

*nods* Humor is all about timing.

Wrong. Just. Wrong. XD

Oh, so that's where it came from originally? I figured the person I linked to hadn't actually created it, but did I think of googling around and trying to find it? Noooo....

BTW, I'll be interested to see what you think if you ever review Tamora Pierce's Protector of the Small series. I read that one first, then the Alanna books, and I much preferred the former. Another take on the "young woman entering male squires' domain" theme, but with a less hyper-special heroine.

Oh, so that's where it came from originally?

I think so. I'm pretty sure that's where I saw it linked from back when I first saw it. It's been awhile though; my word isn't gold. >_<

I ordered the rest of her Tortall books from Zooba last week. ^_^ She's definitely one of those writers who progresses by leaps and bounds as she gains experience.

Just another reason to laugh at the idiots that are running our country. Oh wait... we're SCREWED!

*applauses* you know Dick Chaney has to be thanked actually, I never had such a great chance to make fun of two things I hate the same time: Dick Chaney and Hunters
