Candybar Doll
I really do feel like the object of a passive construction right now. So, if you'll excuse me...moving on...

-LJ is still not emailing me all of the comments posted to my journal. If you have left a comment that desires some sort of response from me, and I have not yet replied, repost it! I'm not ignoring you. Really.

-Mississippi Masala FINALLY showed up on the front porch...at freakin' 6:30 pm!! God, I hate UPS, I really do. Still, I was able to get the related work with it completed, albeit at a later hour than I would have strictly preferred.

-amarythia has been updated with the book and comics reviews posted to this journal in the month of November. I don't think I'll be writing any more until December...but don't hold me to it. ^_~

-Yes, yes, I still love manga and have an immediate backlog of over 60 volumes that I plan to read after the New Year. For some reason, I've been on a prose kick lately, and I never question my literary impulses. *bwa ha ha*

-I am impressed by Go! Comi's crystal-clear page reproduction values and much less impressed with what VIZ Media did to Death Note Vol. 1. The reproduction is HORRIBLE--scanner city--and as subsidiary of Shuueisha, they have no excuse whatsoever. ICE Kunion's four releases fail to impress me paper-quality-wise; they are the same size as the Korean books, but the Korean books have heavier, creamier paper and cost about a third as much. TOKYOPOP's release of Earthian also sports dimensions identical to the original and was printed in China. As such, it has a very Asian "feel" to it, BUT, once again, the paper quality is many orders inferior to the original. *sighs*

-Oh, and I've been having a number of new visitors to my humble online abode as of late (Wonder why...?), some of whom have made their presence known to me, others, undoubtedly, who have not. Feel free to join me in my madness!!! ^__^

Hee ^_^

Dammit I'm still not getting all my email notifications >_<...
30th-Nov-2005 03:26 pm (UTC)
Me neither. Not good when I have people commenting on posts that are weeks, or even months!, old... *sighs*

Yeah really, I only ever look down a few posts.. I may be ragingly popular and not even know it!

....or not..

Generally not with me, either. But I figure someone must've linked to one of my posts somewhere outside LJ, and it has drawn a few people to my journal. At least I'm not garnering the attention of any more authors. ^^; (I think I'd die if I had the author of the most recent review drop by. I did kinda slam the content of his writing, and if it's to be believed, he makes only a modest living. *winces* )

I love learning new tidbits from your journal. I didn't know that the Korean books are supposed to be that trim size -- finally explains the bleed issues that I always noticed with Tokyopop's manhwa releases.

Heh. ^_^ Actually, sunjeong manhwa are A5 size, but some of them, particularly the older titles, are actually a little bit taller even than A5. (Have you ever seen the Comics One release of Redmoon? That size.) On the other hand, sonyeon manhwa (boy's comics) are always B6.
