New TOKYOPOP licenses.

Siesta
Things that will be emptying my wallet in 2006:

-Sakende Yaruze! [Shout Out Loud!] by Takaguchi Satosumi - Oh. My. God. *thinks of that time several years ago when she was hunting for reasonably-priced copies of the out-of-print volumes...and cries* Okay, so Takaguchi is not the greatest BL mangaka, but she is one of the best.

-X -kai- by Tohjoh Asami - Well, all those clamoring for one of Tojoh's titles have, apparently, been heard. This one was originally serialized in the now-defunct Eyes.

-BomBom [Spring] by Lee Young Yuu - A new title from the creator of Kill Me, Kiss Me. I can't vouch for the storyline, but the art will be pretty.

I have Tohjo's manga. It's a very good two-part series.

I must say that I also have a soft spot for that tentacle yaoi thing she did for Chara Comics. XD XD XD

This (Sakende Yaruze) SOOOOO made my day!

I just hope it will come fast! I love Sakende and the characters, all of them...

It's due out in the first half of 2006 from BLU (otherwise known as Tokyopop). Maybe around May?

I'm SOOO ordering it... as soon as I see it in pre-order form, I'm there, baby! *Really really love Sakende ^_^*

I believe someone was digging around Amazon.com and found the listing for it.

It should be early April, actually. You are the first to know. The world at large will know post-Yaoi-con, when we finally get the website up and running. :-)

Awesome - and my copy of Love Mode should get to me by this weekend. Yay!

Sorry to butt in (just checked your profile, so... ^_^).

This is REALLY great news... I had the scans of this title for the longest time and looking everywhere (I'm bilingual -- French/English) for the REAL books as I wanted to have the real thing (and encourage the mangaka at the same time -- not in Japanese as I know ZILCH).

I can't wait for Amazon.ca (I'm in Canada) to have a pre-order form for this title... I so want it... I hope it's very popular (and keeping my fingers crossed they might put a dust jacket like all my French manga) so that TokyoPop decide to get the novel later on (apparently the mangaka had written (or was writing) a sequel in novel form of Sakende).

Okay, so Takaguchi is not the greatest BL mangaka, but she is one of the best.

The best in what? Sakende is the only work of hers that I've read so far and I'm curious to see if she has more titles, maybe better ones that I should try out? I read Sakende upon recommendation, and while I liked it for the first few chapters, the rest of it didn't really sit well with me (bored me more like it).

I haven't clamored, but I have hoped for a Tohjoh license for a while now. It's no secret that she's one of my favorite BL mangaka, so I'm glad to see a work of hers finally licensed.

The best in what?

She's a decent storyteller. Her Chara and Hanaoto titles are worth checking out, including the ones where other artists are illustrating. Pink, in particular, is good.

Personally, though, I like her former assistant Yamada Yugi a heck of a lot better. She's up there with Yoshinaga Fumi and Kunieda Saika in my mind.

Alright, I absolutely love Yoshinaga Fumi and Kunieda Saika and will read anything that they release (and have liked them all so far, if not loved), so I'll see about looking up more of Takaguchi's other titles. I'll just assume that Sakende wasn't one of her better works.

*laughs* I said YAMADA YUGI's up there. Takaguchi is a half-notch down below her in my opinion. (But then, Tohjoh Asami ranks even lower than that in my book, so...*shrugs*)
