And I'm sorry, but if you annotate your Education textbooks with phrases like, "Diversity is perversity," you shouldn't be allowed within 300 ft. of this country's schoolchildren.

I agree.

I don't see how anyone could *dis*agree...but obviously people do. This world really frightens me sometimes.

You know, on one hand it's a little scary to be weeding people out based on personal ideology... But, geez, what kind of philosophy would this guy be pushing in his classroom!? Not a good example if you're trying to claim unfair persecution.....

For primary school teachers, I think that is a-okay. The school is the primary site of socialization (moreso even than parents), and an ideology of tolerance is absolutely necessary given the way we interpret our laws these days.

And really I think a university training teachers *does* have the right, and responsibility, to decide what kind of teachers they're turning out..
The idea that academic freedom applies to primary school teachers nonsensical too, at least in terms of what they bring to the classroom...

'Course, I like the idea of "diversity training" as early as kindergarten. I'm not against underhanded, sneaky indoctrination...as long as it's the RIGHT sort of indoctrination! *bwa ha ha*

Sneaky indoctrination? Hints of your dictator nature emerging, Rythia-cahn?^^

Or my inherently mistrustful nature. :P

That's scary. Not only that someone would write something like that in their textbooks but the way this disposition theory could backfire depending on which political faction is in power.

No kidding. Some right wing nutso or another could use this law to churn out an entire generation of schoolteachers with an explicitly fundamentalist agenda.
