"Purity"? "Chastity"? I'm definitely seeing a pattern in all of these quizzes. Maybe I should just change my moniker to "The Virgin" and be done with it.

From doktor_x (Damn him! XD ):

Your soul is bound to the White Rose: The
Pure.

"I've been waiting in the dark for a long
time, shining my beacon of hope through the
shadow. If you see me, don't you hide your
eyes from me."

The White Rose is associated with purity, honor,
and chastity. It is governed by the goddess
Artemis and its sign is The Cross, or Agape.

As a White Rose, you are a person of your word.
You may have a strong moral code, but
regardless of your virtue, you always stay true
to yourself. To you, love is the most pure of
emotional forms and it's just a matter of
waiting for it to bless you. Some people may
say you are too idealistic, but it's only
because you don't want to mess things up.

But "idealistic"? I don't think so! I don't believe in "true love," either, though I like reading about it...

Though, yes, I believe staying true to oneself is of utmost importance, and I try (though not always succeed) to do just that.

hee ^_^ Hey, how come there's no picture with the white rose? Guess I don't believe in one true love anyway, still undecided on the general concept.. The fairytale romance seems wholly unrealistic though...

The white rose doesn't have a picture, apparently. (Finding a photo of a white rose must've been too difficult. :P Or, more likely, the quiz writer just made a mistake.)

The fact that we even have a story of "one true love," though, means that some people were monogamous and had only one love for their entire lives, most likely. For what that's worth.

I know if I were married, I'd be loyal, out of inertia if nothing else. ^^;;; Though to *get* to that point, it would have to work on many different levels, and one of those levels doesn't necessarily have to be "falling head over heels in love."

Maybe you white rose people think ya'll are too good for pictures? Think a picture will steal your purity or something?? HUH!??

I know if I were married, I'd be loyal, out of inertia if nothing else.

*laughs*

Well if nothing else, it's just easier and less stressful to not cheat ^_^

Oh, I mean the terribly romantic notion that there is just one person out there who was made for you, blah, blah, blah.... Hmm... I also don't buy that idea that you can't help who you fall in love with..

Well, maybe the *wrong* sort of pictures... XD

My thoughts exactly. Especially since I'm so security-driven.

I also don't buy that idea that you can't help who you fall in love with..

Hmm...I'm not sure. Since it is kind of a chemical reaction in "lower" brain function. You *can* choose to ignore those impulses, though.

Yes, I almost said that myself.. Attraction might be out of your control, but acting on it *is* under your control.. And that whole initial infatuation thing is just fleeting. Ignore it and it will go away...

Well, maybe the *wrong* sort of pictures

*laughs*

I didn't even think of that *^_^*

What *were* you thinking, then? ^__^

I was relating it to some cultural beliefs that photographs steal your soul, really! ^_^
28th-Jul-2005 12:28 pm (UTC)
Oh. I would never have thought of that by myself. Not my religion. :P

Where did that superstition start, anyway?
28th-Jul-2005 12:47 pm (UTC)
Geez I’m trying to remember, I don’t think it’s an isolated thing.. I've mostly heard it in terms of "primitive" cultures, that just aren't familiar with photography ^_^
28th-Jul-2005 12:49 pm (UTC)
"Primitive cultures"...yeah. I heard that superstition when I was in the Yucatán, actually. But at the time, I was recalling, for some reason, hearing that people in Spain believed it too at one point. But I don't know if I was just imagining remembering that. ^^;;

And then, on the opposite end, the gloryhounds who believe photos immortalize them and will run into the frame where ever you point the camera. (Met a lot of them in Korea.)
